Hello everyone 🙂

This is the last planned set of code tweaks to live this January, with the intent for my focus to shift back to working on the PTR now while Mombi continues his rampage updating the graphics.
- Status icons such as retreat flags, party icons, skulls etc now position correctly for pixel perfect and scaled sprites regardless of size.
- The volume buttons on Android devices are no longer detected as keyboard inputs.
- If connection to the Google Play Store is lost, the client will now periodically attempt to re-connect and reactivate the Realm Store once successful.
- The out-of-game menu now accounts for a UI scaling issue that was resulting in an annoying line at the top of the screen at some resolutions on Android devices.
- The engine now supports body decay states, these have been added to the recently updated creatures and will be added to all creatures going forwards.
- Another creature has received a makeover.
- One of the root causes of some prior network outages has been identified and a fix has been put in place, this is being actively monitored.
We have new server hardware in the post to replace Mog (the live game server) in February. Mog has been a great workhorse for us, but given the crash a few weeks ago and how much hardware has moved on it is time to retire her. This upgrade brings 30% faster clock speeds which we are going to need to support the many new features coming this year via the PTR, as well as drastically more ram (ECC too) so we can give the database some breathing room.
My immediate task (aside from keeping an eye on live to ensure there are no surprise issues from the above changes) will be to port all of the recent changes over to the PTR, I suspect this is about a days work which I will undertake at the weekend.
I have some big life changes happening, and some things I haven’t officially announced yet that I want to reveal to the wider playerbase towards the end of the month so, see you then 🙂
