Version 0.8.9 Released!

Hello everyone,

It would appear I have not been posting update news on the website for quite some time, not sure why I started rolling stuff out without posting about it but hey ho, lets put a stop to that. I have just returned from a 3 week haitus while I was looking after a relatives farm, this turned out to be the furthest thing from a break imaginable so this weeks update is a small set of changes based on community feedback while I was away.

  • Targeting a stack of creatures will prioritise skulled players (to prioritise the lowest level skulled player in a future update)
  • Creatures will no longer heal indefinitely if they think they are being used to train with
  • Rods are no longer candidates for nature damage enchants
  • Realm Store translation key utilised
  • Fallbacks added to workaround resolving local network address in Linux
  • Client error handling and contextual message for broken hosts files (if fallbacks fail)
  • Play store / PTR download page is now linked via a “Download Update” button when client is out of date on Android
  • Notification UI now uses wrapping text and restricted width to prevent long text going offscreen and increase readability on widescreen monitors
  • Number formatting should now display correctly when using system languages with arabic derivative numerical representation
  • An area that was incorrectly flagged as a non-supporter zone was being abused to prevent being booted on login back to town once supporter status expired… it is now correctly flagged as a supporter zone.

In other news I have began the rather insane task of migrating almost everything at once from the old PTR version of the game. movement, spell systems, AI, masteries, UI, everything. The only thing not being brought across is the new stat balance and stat systems, my intention being to work on that in isolation once all of the supporting systems are in place.

This naturally will be a fairly enormous set of changes, which I am hoping to start deploying to the PTR late next week. Due to the extensive nature of the changes, I forsee this requiring several weeks of PTR community testing before finally bringing it to live.

We’ve been talking about big changes for a long time now, it’s nice to finally be in a position to deliver them. See you soon.

Fhox
